From May 6 to 7, Mr. Vincent, Senior Vice President of EVE, visited the Malaysia factory of EVE for project exchanges and had in-depth discussions with Mr. Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, the newly appointed CEO of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), to explore further cooperation. Joe Chan, Director of EVE Asia, and other leaders accompanied and participated.
Continuously increasing and steadily advancing
EVE’s Malaysia factory project consists of two phases. The first phase is the "International Cylindrical Battery Industry Park" project, with an investment of no more than 422.3 million US dollars, located in Julin County, Kedah, Malaysia. Construction officially began on August 7, 2023; The second phase is an energy storage project. On January 15, 2024, a memorandum of understanding was signed in Huizhou between EVE ENERGY MALAYSIA SDN.BHD, a wholly-owned sub-subsidiary of EVE, and INVEST KEDAH BHD, proposing to establish EVE Malaysia Energy Storage Company and purchase a new Phase II plot to start the construction of energy storage factories to meet Malaysia's energy storage needs.
EVE Project Phase I and EVE’s 53rd Factory mainly produce cylindrical batteries for power tools and electric two wheelers. Since its inception, with mature manufacturing capabilities and technological reserves, it has injected vitality into the local economy of Malaysia and gained widespread recognition in the Malaysian market. At present, the project construction is in a steady progress stage and is expected to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2025. It will greatly enhance overseas delivery capabilities and advantages, fully meet customer needs, and continue to strengthen EVE's leading position in the field of cylindrical batteries. At the same time, it will promote local employment and economic growth, further promoting cooperation between China and Malaysia in the field of new energy.
As a leading global lithium battery company, EVE has always laid out its global presence with an international perspective, forming the ability of "global manufacturing, global delivery, and global service", getting close to customers, and responding quickly. In the process of factory construction and operation management in Malaysia, EVE will empower efficient production through the digital factory, promote carbon reduction and emission reduction throughout the product lifecycle, and implement a globalization strategy with high safety, reliability, and performance products. Together with global partners for a green future.
Discuss and cooperate together to draw a blueprint
During the inspection period, Mr. Vincent and his delegation had in-depth exchanges with Mr. Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, the newly appointed CEO of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), to discuss cooperation and mutual development.
Mr. Vincent, on behalf of EVE, expresses sincere gratitude for the strong support provided by MIDA. Mr. Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, the newly appointed CEO of MIDA, highly appreciates EVE ENERGY MALAYSIA SDN.BHD for being awarded the 2023 Malaysian Foreign Invested Advanced Manufacturing Enterprise in Social Responsibility (the only Chinese enterprise). The award is a high recognition of EVE's advanced manufacturing level, technological innovation ability, and green and sustainable development. At the same time, Mr. Sikh Shamsul stated that he will continue to support the construction and business development of EVE’s project in the future, and looks forward to EVE’s outstanding contributions to Malaysia's local economy and development.
In the future, EVE’s Malaysia factory will rely on advanced manufacturing advantages and operational experience, strengthen technological innovation, and be committed to promoting the construction of an ultimate manufacturing and world-class digital factory, accelerating the expansion of global layout, and assisting in the development of Southeast Asia's new energy industry.
